| - Through intensified SK Group synergy, revenues in leased line rose by 15% and T-band (fixed-mobile bundle) subscribers reached approx. 470,000 - Improved financial stability is expected with the successful 300 billion capital increase and credit rating upgrade to ¡®A1¡¯ - The Company continues to secure basis for mid and long term growth by maintaining the subscriber net addition volume in 2H¡¯09 Seoul, South Korea – July 31, 2009 – SK broadband incorporated (KOSDAQ: 033630) (the ¡°Company¡±) Korea¡¯s leading integrated telecommunications company, announced on July 31, 2009 that the Company posted a revenue of KRW 456 billion, an operating loss of KRW 20.4 billion and a net loss 41.6 billion, for the second quarter of 2009. The Company stated that although its overall revenue rose by 4.0% compared to previous quarter owing to increased broadband subscribers and strong results of leased line business, the Company posted an operating loss and a net loss due to the fierce market competition. With regards to broadband business, a rapid subscriber increase resulted in revenue growth. SK broadband took the first place for the net addition volume by acquiring total 205,000 broadband subscribers in 1H¡¯09 including 98,000 in Q1¡¯09 and 107,000 in Q2¡¯09. In terms of VoIP business, the Company stated that it acquired 577,000 accumulated subscribers in 1H¡¯09 by adding the largest number of LVNP subscribers in Q2¡¯09. On the broad&tv business, the Company remarked that SK broadband continues to strengthen convergence market competitiveness by maintaining the first ranking in Pre-IPTV service with a rapid increase in real-time IPTV subscriber number on the basis of nationwide coverage and real-time channel expansion. Meanwhile, the Company said SK broadband acquired 2.73 million subscribers of 100Mbps fiber LAN broadband service as of the end of June 2009, and broad&tv¡¯s paying subscriber ratio reached over mid 80%. The Company remarked that SK broadband not only expended subscriber base, but also made qualitative improvement in subscriber profile. Moreover, the Company stated that owing to synergy with SK Group which began to materialize in earnest since last year, fixed-mobile bundle product, T-band¡¯s accumulated subscriber has increased to approx. 467,000 by the end of second quarter of 2009, and leased line revenue has increased by 15% quarter-on-quarter due to increased demand from SK Group¡¯s affiliates. With regards to the Company¡¯s fundamental competitiveness enhancement, SK broadband remarked that its financial stability has improved through the successful 300 billion capital increase and credit rating upgrade to ¡°A1¡±. In particular, it achieved the desired effect from its efforts to improve customer value, for example, SK broadband recorded the least number of customer complains among the fixed-line operators in 1H¡¯09.
