Seoul, South Korea – November 6, 2009 – SK broadband incorporated (KOSDAQ: 033630) (the ¡°Company¡±) Korea¡¯s leading integrated telecommunications company, announced on November 6, 2009 that the Company posted a revenue of KRW 473.9 billion, an operating loss of KRW 40.9 billion and a net loss 59.3 billion, for the third quarter of 2009.

SK broadband stated that its overall revenue rose by 5.8% year on year and 3.9% quarter on quarter owing to its steady subscriber growth in major businesses including broadband, voice, and IPTV services. Marketing expenses were executed with similar level to the previous quarter by efficiently responding to strengthened market competition. However, the Company posted an operating loss and a net loss due to increased operating expenses related with expansion of subscriber base

The Company stated that there was net addition of approx. 44,000 for broadband subscribers, 290,000 for VoIP subscribers, and 120,000 for real-time IPTV subscribers, and this rapid increase in new subscribers led its revenue growth.

Moreover, fixed-mobile bundle product with SK Telecom, T-band¡¯s subscriber has increased to approx. 138,000 during the third quarter, following by 122,000 net additions during the second quarter, and the Company acquired approx. 605,000 accumulated subscribers by the end of the third quarter of 2009.

SK broadband acquired 2.88 million accumulated subscribers of 100Mbps fiber LAN broadband service as of the end of third quarter, which amounts to 76% of total broadband subscribers. SK broadband stated that the Company¡¯s convergence market competitiveness was strengthened by increase of fiber LAN subscriber base and strengthened IPTV channel competitiveness through increasing no. of IPTV channels up to 89.

In addition, SK broadband recently formed Network Business Unit, and took over SK Networks¡¯ corporate VoIP business. Through this, SK broadband improved its business competitiveness. SK broadband also said the Company will expand its market share in corporate business by revitalizing FMC business for enterprises with an alliance with Group¡¯s telecommunication affiliates and expanding its customer base of small and medium enterprises.

Meanwhile, the Company¡¯s financial strength has improved due to increase in capital and decrease in debt resulting from paid-in capital increase in third quarter. Its ¡®total liabilities to equity ratio¡¯ has improved by 32%p quarter on quarter.

SK broadband¡¯s CFO Mr. Young-Chul, Kim said, ¡°The Company will efficiently respond to market through making improvements in quality and customer value, maximizing capability in fixed-mobile convergence market, and secure basis for mid to long term growth.¡±
